well, let me explain it to you before you get lost for reading this Blog, hehe :)

„What is AIESEC?” *in brief

AIESEC is the largest student organization worldwide which provides internships abroad.


Present in over 1700 universities in 110 countries and territories , AIESEC, the world's largest student organization, is the international platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential so as to have a positive impact in society.

Towards this aim, we run more than 470 conferences , provide8,000 work abroad opportunities , and offer over 8,300 leadership positions to our members each year. Together with a focus on building personal networks and exploring the direction and ambition of their future, AIESEC has an innovative approach to engaging and developing young people.

Our partner organizations , literally thousands from all sectors, look at AIESEC as a way to support the development of young people and to have access to high-potential young talent from around the world.
Our alumni are leaders within these organizations and their communities - using the experience, skills, and increased vision that AIESEC gave them to be agents of positive change.

The AIESEC Way!

The AIESEC Way is not only a description of the way (manner) we aim to make a positive impact on society, but also describes the way (road) we are taking to achieve what we envision.

What is AIESEC?

AIESEC is a global, non-political, independent, not-for-profit organization run by students and recent graduates of institutions of higher education. Its members are interested in world issues, leadership and management. AIESEC does not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, gender, sexual orientation, creed, religion, national, ethnic or social origin.

The Way We Do It

AIESEC provides its members with an integrated development experience comprised of leadership opportunities, international internships and participation in a global learning environment.

Note: This Global Learning Environment is comprised of six elements: self-reflexion, learning circles, team experiences, conferences and seminars, mentorship and virtual spaces

AIESEC in Numbers

AIESEC is the biggest student organisation of the world. But what does that really mean?
Here you can take a look at some numbers showing how big AIESEC really is.

1948		The year AIESEC was founded That’s when our organization got the name AIESEC – we were called AIESE before this point in time.
40 000 members		The number of young people who are currently Experiencing AIESEC As of internal data from January 2010.
110 countries		The number of countries we have AIESEC activities in Several countries were approved to join the global network at International Presidents Meeting 2010 in Tunisia, so we are now present in 110 countries!
4 000 partners		We partner with over 4000 organizations globally These include sponsors, companies involved in exchange, other partners, etc.
1 700 universities		We are currently present in over 1700 universities Although we have more than 800 LCs, many LCs have presence in numerous universities. From latest internal data collected in January 2010.
8 000 exchanges		We provide unique exchange experiences for over 8000 youth annually From our latest exchange statistics.
8 300 leadership opportunities		Each year, over 8300 leadership opportunities are available Youth around the world engage in all sorts of projects in leading a team of at least three people for more than three months. This number is constantly increasing.
800 000 alumni		We have impacted over 800,000 people in society through AIESEC This number is calculated taking into account an average of 15,000 members per year as well as low and high years in terms of membership throughout our existence.
800 local committees		We have over 800 local committees (LCs) The actual number is 800, and as you can see from the number above, many LCs are covering several universities.
